Darkroom Rentals | Harwood Art Center

Darkroom Rentals

Harwood Art Center is proud to provide affordable working spaces to artists who live and work in the greater Albuquerque area. Our darkroom offers an autonomous working environment for photographers interested in black and white photo processing. The facility provides four functional enlargers, several safe lights, timers, drying racks, two sinks and temporary locker storage space. Photographers are responsible to bring their own paper and chemistry.

Darkroom users will share a Google calendar to manage use. Usage can be purchased at $45 per 15 hour time blocks. Time blocks can also be divided into shorter sessions within Google calendar.

We encourage all interested artists who have a need for darkroom rental to complete an application. Apply to use the Darkroom >

Based upon availability, you will be contacted to schedule a site visit and tour of Harwood Art Center after you submit your application. Upon completion of the tour and verified availability of workspace, a member of the Harwood staff will contact references and draft all necessary documents to confirm rental terms and welcome you to our community.

If at any point your needs or availability change please feel free to contact us at (505) 242-6367 to update the status of your application. For more specific questions, please contact Staci Drangmeister, Programs & Operations Coordinator >.

HARWOOD STORIES

I seem to have known about Harwood Art Center since I moved to Albuquerque in 1996. I have always enjoyed seeing the exhibits there and visiting the studios when they are open to the public. I have taken a couple of classes there, and this last year I have taught a class there myself. This last spring I also had an exhibit of my wire sculptures and wall works at Harwood. I am pleased to contribute work which supports the work of the [Harwood] Art Center.
